POULTRY

Fancy Poultry refers to chickens which are not your "run of the mill" barnyard mixed variety. They are purebred or rare poultry breeds which sport topnots, feathers on their legs, feathers that grow backwards, feathers that look more like hair than feathers, eggs naturally colored (from green/blue to deep, dark brown), and great diversity in size.

Chickens come in giant, standard, and bantam (small). The varieties are wonderfully diverse. They provide wake-up calls, meat and eggs, entertainment and insect control. There are poultry catalogs which sell eggs, chicks, and equipment. Poultry magazines give information about shows, medical treatments, conformation, etc.
